- FASB/PCC Update
Michael Cheng, Private Company Council (PCC) Coordinator
Michael will discuss the goals and accomplishments of the PCC and general accounting and auditing updates for 2017, including current projects such as FI hedging, goodwill impairment, clarifying definition of a business, liabilities and equity, and debt classification, among others. Attendees will be able to describe how these updates may affect their organization.
- Lease Regulations

February 2016 saw the issuance of FASB’s final guidance on financial accounting and reporting for leases. As a major update to accounting rules for most commonly used lease arrangements, a detailed understanding of the requirements and advanced planning with stakeholders will be key to successful implementation in 2020. Attendees will be able to identify a lease, significant contract components and classification attributes. Attendees will also gain an understanding of the main financial accounting and reporting implications at inception and throughout the lifecycle of a lease.
- Governmental Accounting Standards Update

Whether you are a governmental entity, business enterprise or private citizen, changes in governmental accounting standards impact everyone. Significant changes in governmental accounting standards require governmental entities to more completely track and record assets and liabilities providing more accurate financial information. Significant changes now require additional off balance liabilities to be recorded by governmental entities. These new changes impact costs which are ultimately passed on to taxpayers. Attendees of this session will be able to understand and summarize significant changes in governmental accounting standards that would impact them or their business.

Jim will provide an overview of the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s (FASB) Accounting Standards Update (ASU) 2014-09, including its scope, core principle and key steps. Attendees of this session will be able to determine how their organization’s accounting policies may be affected by the new guidance.
