YORK, PA (May 30, 2014) – Reinsel Kuntz Lesher (RKL) LLP, Certified Accountants & Consultants, is pleased to announce that Douglas L. Berman, CPA, has been honored with Leadership York’s “Outstanding Alumnus of the Year” award for his extensive community leadership and volunteer achievements in the York County area.
As managing partner of RKL’s York Office, Berman oversees a team of 75 members dedicated to providing five-star professional services to the local and regional business community. In addition, he is the leader of RKL’s Not-For-Profit Industry Group and manages a team of professionals who serve the evolving needs of community benefit organizations throughout the region.
“As both a professional services provider to the industry and a dedicated volunteer leader, Doug has a unique passion for and understanding of not-for-profit organizations,” commented RKL CEO Edward W. Monborne.
A graduate of Leadership York’s Leadership Training Program in 2002, Berman gives credit to the program for providing him with valuable training and experience that helped shape him as a community leader. His current leadership roles include serving as the Board Chairperson of Leg Up Farm, Vice President of the York County Economic Alliance, and a Board member and three-term, past-President of the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO). In addition to these organizations, Berman has been involved with the Rotary Club of York-East, Byrnes Health Education Center, Mental Health America, and InVision Human Services. He is also highly active in his church, serving on a variety of committees at Yorkshire United Methodist Church.
In addition to serving York County through his involvement in these organizations, Berman encourages RKL team members to actively support the community. Under his guidance and leadership, several RKL team members have graduated from Leadership York and many have supported the community through volunteer work, leadership development and financial contributions.
Leadership York is a program designed to train and support individuals who have the desire to serve leadership positions in the York community. The organization offers a number of benefits and leadership training for enhancing the quality of a community.
