The opportunity to work with clients in a wide range of industries initially drew Jim Cassel to the public accounting profession, and more than two decades later this variety continues to inspire him as he helps small start-ups to large middle-market companies navigate business complexities and challenges.
As a Partner in RKL’s Audit Services Group, Jim specializes in conducting internal and external audits for clients in the manufacturing and distribution, real estate, not-for-profit and financial services industries. He also has experience auditing his clients’ employee benefit plans and assisting them with associated compliance requirements.
Jim’s deep and diverse experience uniquely positions him to advise clients on complex accounting and compliance matters, including internal control over financial reporting required by the SEC. He also carries out internal audit outsourcing and co-sourcing arrangements for clients in the financial services industry. Jim works closely with colleagues in the firm’s risk management practice to help financial institutions mitigate a wide spectrum of risk, from regulatory compliance to cyber security.
Clients ranging from family owned businesses to private equity backed companies also rely on Jim to conduct due diligence engagements and support them throughout the execution of mergers and acquisitions or financing transactions.
“Being the first person a client calls with a question means they value my input and more importantly, our relationship.”
