RKL Donates Over 8,000 Items to Help Supply Local Schools

Thanks to strong support from team members across all offices, RKL’s annual school supply drive resulted in the donation of more than 8,000 school supply and uniform items to help local students get a well-equipped start to the new school year.

Organized by RKL’s Young Professionals, the drive kicked off on August 3. Collection bins soon overflowed with school supply items ranging from pens and pencils to scissors and calculators. When the drive concluded two weeks later, the RKL team gathered enough school supplies to fill several conference room tables!

Each office identified a school or community partner to receive the donated items. In Reading, the team selected 12th and Marion Elementary School, while the York office partnered with the United Way of York County to support its annual school supply collection effort. Lancaster identified Martin Luther King Elementary as its recipient school, and Harrisburg chose to support the Nativity School with its donation. Once the drive concluded, it was time to deliver the supplies to the deserving schools and organizations!

Clint Faust and Travis Bieber visited 12th and Marion on behalf of the Reading office to deliver the donated items.

The staff members at the recipient schools were thrilled to receive the donated items from RKL. The principal and assistant principal of 12th and Marion wrote to the Reading office after the drop-off visit to express their gratitude for the supplies and noted that they will have an immediate impact in classrooms as the new school year gets underway.

Administrators at Lancaster’s King Elementary told RKL team members that they felt “truly blessed to have such giving individuals,” and invited them to visit the school again after the initial drop-off, so the students could thank them in person. It was a truly gratifying opportunity to meet the students who benefit from having the tools they need in the classroom.
