LANCASTER, PA (July 22, 2026) — RKL LLP released Mission & Margin: Nonprofit Insights and Trends 2026, a new report capturing feedback from local nonprofit leaders, board members and employees.
The report shows that many nonprofits feel confident in core areas such as governance, familiar grant activity and steady fundraising performance. At the same time, respondents identified challenges related to fundraising participation, specialized grant capacity, preparedness for funding disruptions and long-term leadership planning.
“This report highlights both the strengths organizations are building on and the practical pressures they face,” said Stacie DeJesus, Client Success Director at RKL. “Our hope is that these insights help elevate the day-to-day realities facing nonprofits and support conversations about what they need to thrive.”
Key findings show strong board performance in core governance, high value placed on external benchmarking, greater confidence in traditional grant types and mixed readiness for government funding delays. The report also points to steady fundraising overall, softer expectations for corporate giving and growing attention to leadership succession.
