LANCASTER, PA (June 7, 2018) – RKL LLP today announced that Kathy Gutierrez, MSHRD, CPLP, PHR, SHRM-CP, has been promoted to the role of Director of Human Resources, effective May 1, 2018. In her new role, Gutierrez oversees all facets of the firm’s HR function, including recruiting, training, policies and benefits, performance management and other strategic team initiatives.

A certified human resources professional, Gutierrez has been a central figure in RKL’s HR department since joining the firm in 2013. She previously managed the firm’s learning and development initiatives, devising a robust slate of training opportunities to support RKL’s continually expanding capabilities. As RKL evolved beyond the traditional CPA firm into a professional services leader, Gutierrez played a key role in ensuring team members had the resources and training to bolster not only technical expertise but also an advisory and cross-disciplinary approach to client engagement.
In 2016, Gutierrez earned a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Development from Villanova University. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Millersville University.
Gutierrez is a member of the Lancaster Society for Human Resource Management and serves on its Professional Development Committee. She is also a member of the National American Society for Training and Development. Gutierrez sits on the Advisory Board for the Women’s Business Center of Lancaster and serves as Treasurer for the League of Women Voters of Lancaster County. An engaged supporter of Junior Achievement, Gutierrez volunteers for the organization’s local school-based educational programs and serves as speaker and mentor for its Young Women Symposium. She resides with her husband in the Penn Manor School District.
