LANCASTER, PA (April 20, 2026) — Nationally-leading CPA and advisory firm RKL announced that CEO Ed Monborne and CEO-Elect Mike De Stefano were named among Central Penn Business Journal’s 2026 Leaders in Business and Finance. Monborne was named an honoree in the Lifetime Achievement category, and De Stefano was recognized in the Independent CPA category.
The awards honor financial professionals who have made outstanding contributions to their organizations and the Central Pennsylvania community. Honorees are recognized for their professional achievements, leadership in the field and support of the community. The Lifetime Achievement category specifically recognizes professionals who have made sustained contributions and demonstrated extraordinary dedication throughout their careers.
“I’m honored to be recognized alongside Mike and so many respected professionals in our region,” said Monborne. “RKL’s growth and success have always been driven by a focus on the evolving needs of our clients and our commitment to helping them navigate what’s next with confidence. I’m proud of this talented team and what we’ve built together.”
Since becoming CEO of RKL in 2011, Monborne has led the firm through a period of significant growth and innovation, expanding revenues by more than 450%, growing the team by more than 300% and strategically diversifying the organization into four distinct brands. Under his leadership, RKL has strengthened its position among the nation’s leading professional services firms and expanded its capabilities well beyond those traditionally associated with CPA firms, with a strategic focus on helping clients navigate increasing complexity in areas such as technology, human resources and cyber security.
De Stefano began his career at RKL, where he spent 14 years in the firm’s Tax and Audit Services Group. He later joined a Central Pennsylvania-based petroleum wholesale and logistics company, where he served as CFO and Vice President of Finance. He returned to RKL in 2019 as CFO and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2022. In September 2026, he will succeed Monborne as CEO.
The honorees will be recognized at a celebration on May 12 at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel and profiled in a special section in the May 22 issue of the Central Penn Business Journal.
